“Trial by Fire,” by Eric Mansfield, is presented by the School of Theatre and Dance in partnership with the May 4 Education Committee, as the play focuses on a (fictional) Kent State graduate who is put “on trial” for allowing her high school students access to banned books. Running Feb. 7-9, the event is free for Kent State students, faculty and staff.

Please join the Anti-Racism and Equity Institute in welcoming Activist-in-Residence, Dr. José Salinas. As the Director of the Ohio Migrant Education Center in Fremont, Ohio, Dr. Salinas oversees a team dedicated to providing professional development, technical assistance, and guidance to school districts across the state to address challenges faced by migratory children including educational disruptions, language barriers, and health disparities. On Feb. 6 at 3 p.m., all are welcome to a screening of "Harvest of Shame," followed by a panel discussion and reception.

Sponsored by University Advising, the Advisor Impact Award is a quarterly recognition given to one outstanding academic advisor who has made a significant positive impact on the lives and academic success of their students. This award celebrates advisors who embody the 5X���� Advising Guiding Principles. Nominations for the award closes Jan. 31, 2025.
