Deadline approaching: State-Mandated Fraud Training Due by Oct. 29

All current Kent State employees, including student employees, are required to complete a state-mandated fraud training program by Oct. 29. This is following Section 117.103 of the Ohio Revised Code, which requires public employees to complete training provided by the Auditor of State detailing Ohio’s fraud-reporting system and the means of reporting fraud, waste and abuse.  

About the training

The on-demand virtual training should only take about 10 minutes and is designed to inform all state employees of the process of reporting potentially fraudulent activities. The training is accessible through SafeColleges.

  • Faculty and staff: Access the training by clicking on this . You will have to sign in with your Kent State credentials to access the fraud training. 
  • Students: Access the training on for student employees. You may also access the training through FlashLine by clicking on Student, Resources and then University Policies.

This training is crucial in safeguarding our institution’s resources and reputation. It will equip you with the knowledge and tools to recognize and report any suspicious activities. 

This training is mandatory for all Kent State employees, including faculty, staff, graduate assistants and part-time student workers. 

Training requirements

All current employees must complete the training by Oct. 29, and future employees must complete the training within 30 days of their employment. Thereafter, all Kent State employees must complete the training once every four years, in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code. 

The state of Ohio requires 100% employee participation in the training program.
