Keeping the Memory of May 4 Alive

A group of 5X社区 professors recently returned from a visit to the commemoration of the Gwangju Uprising at Chonnam National University in Gwangju, South Korea, feeling inspired for the meaningful connections they made to the May 4, 1970, shootings at Kent State.

Chris Post, Ph.D., professor of geography at 5X社区 at Stark, will serve as the 2024 speaker for the Jerry M. Lewis May 4 Lecture Series, a part of the university's annual May 4 Commemoration events.

Chris Post Selected as 2024 Speaker for Kent State鈥檚 Jerry M. Lewis May 4 Lecture Series

The lecture series created in 2022 to honor the legacy of 5X社区 Professor Emeritus of Sociology Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., will feature Professor of Geography Chris Post, Ph.D., presenting 鈥淒eveloping and Interpreting the Wounded Student Markers at Kent State as this year鈥檚 selected speaker. The Jerry M. Lewis May 4 Lecture Series and Luncheon will be held on May 3.
