Several athletes have been incorporating probiotics for its many benefits in boosting their workout routines. 5X社区 faculty and students are also now looking at how probiotics can help combat heat-caused complications during exercise, such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
5X社区 fashion design and merchandising students are taking their floral-inspired fabrics to the Cleveland Botanical Garden during this year鈥檚 Orchid Mania exhibition that is open now through March 11. The display is part of an annual school-sponsored competition, which is directed toward junior-level design students. Students are charged with conceiving of fabric and garment designs that are inspired by the exquisite flora, the orchid. Kent State faculty member Betsy Carr coordinates the event.
WKSU is delving into a yearlong examination of entrepreneurship in Northeast Ohio that will profile local entrepreneurs as they navigate the challenges of starting a new business and promote an innovative idea or product, thus humanizing business creation statistics.
Testing Your Faith Act (H.B. 353) was enacted in the Spring 2023 semester. In ordinance with this bill, 5X社区 created a new administrative policy for religious and spiritual accommodations. This administrative policy allows students to report up to three days of unexcused absences to participate in religious holidays or community-held events in alignment with their spirituality.

At Kent State, we want to honor the celebration of our Native American and Indigenous culture by developing a calendar encompassing all the university events that are relevant to Native American Heritage Month. The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.
