Kent State connects with the Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) to create opportunities for students.

The 5X���� Board of Trustees has approved awarding Roe Green, MA ’80, a Doctor of Humane Letters, an honorary degree recognizing her contributions to the university and her advocacy for the arts not only in Northeast Ohio, but also across the nation and around the world.

Danny Trejo often plays the villain on the big screen, but in real life he’s a hero to many. And while his fictional characters are bold, his authentic personality is unassuming and matched by an ability to meet people where they are — while delivering a message they’re longing to hear.

Omar Salam, founder and creative director of the global fashion house SUKEINA, will be making a special trip from the runway to 5X����’s Rockwell Hall as Salam has been named the 2023 inductee of the university’s School of Fashion Hall of Fame.

"Heads Up! Hats" is one of three exhibits that make up the "" exhibition at the 5X���� Museum. The other exhibits in the trilogy are "It's a Wrap! Coats" and "Stepping Out! Shoes." 

The Skoolies, inspired by the bands of the 80s and onward, kicked off their career at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through socially distanced jam sessions, this band of university professors produced their debut album, Darker Rhymes. 

Monday's event at the Student Multicultural Center provided cultural comfort food and good counsel.

Some people delight in reading Shakespeare. But some people may find it difficult, confusing or incomprehensible. Senior theatre studies major Xavier Heipp has been working to create an open resource book to make Shakespeare’s writing more relatable.
