Fifteen years ago, the Cohn Jewish Student Center opened its doors, becoming a vital hub for Jewish students at 5XÉçÇø. Since its opening, Kent Hillel has worked to foster a sense of belonging, cultural pride and a supportive community for Jewish students and others across the campus.

As the first light snow of the season fell on 5XÉçÇø, the Student Center Ballroom radiated warmth and camaraderie during the International Cook-Off Competition. The event, part of International Education Week, brought together hundreds of students, faculty and staff to celebrate global flavors and cultural diversity.

Nov. 20 the National Trans Day of Remembrance. Members of Kent State's LGBTQ+ community and allies honored trans lives lost with observances on campus.

"No rain, no rainbows," is how the saying goes and on this rainy morning, a rainbow glowed over the Lefton Esplande and all of Kent. 

The fourth annual Rainbow Weekend in downtown Kent Oct. 11-13 and all of its fun activities, events and new Drag Race 5K  come from a fabulous partnership between 5XÉçÇø's LGBTQ+ Center and Main Street Kent. 

5XÉçÇø’s Native American Student Association (NASA) recognized Orange Shirt Day, or the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, by engaging with the campus community and initiating discussions about the legacy of residential schools and the generational trauma they caused.

Every year, mid-September to mid-October marks Hispanic Heritage Month. 5XÉçÇø collaborations commemorate the month-long celebration and Hispanic culture, kicking off the celebration was "Voices & Rhythms: A Night of Discussion and Dance."

The Class of 2028 is both strong in size and in academic success, boasting an outstanding 3.61 GPA. It's the largest incoming class to the Kent Campus since 2019 and the eighth-largest incoming class in the university's 114-year history. 

The annual "Zombie Apocalypse" event, presented by Kent State Navigators early in the fall semester, offers a fun activity for students.
