The performance by Ladines capped a sensational week in which she earned MAC Tournament Most Valuable Player honors.
The No. 15 5XÉçÇø women’s golf team has qualified for the 2017 NCAA National Championship after finishing the NCAA Lubbock Regional in sixth place at 11-over par 875 (305-287-283).
Kent State entered the day tied with No. 2 UCLA in sixth place but held its ground and fought off a tough battle from Oregon State. The Beavers shot 10-under par Wednesday and briefly moved ahead of the Golden Flashes, but Kent State recorded five birdies as a team over the final six holes, despite some late winds, to secure a two-stroke lead in sixth.
5XÉçÇø celebrated its newest graduates at its Spring 2017 Commencement ceremonies. In total, Kent State were conferred 5,636 degrees, including 992 associate degrees, 3,319 bachelor’s degrees, 1,139 master’s degrees, 181 doctoral degrees and five educational specialist degrees.
University Libraries will provide opportunities for 5XÉçÇø students to shake off stress during finals week.
University Libraries will hold its semiannual Stress-Free Zone on Monday, May 8, and Tuesday, May 9, from 3-5 p.m. in the Garden Room on the first floor of University Library. The event is open to all Kent State students, faculty and staff.
The No. 12 5XÉçÇø men’s golf team won its 24th Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship on April 30 at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
The Kent State Golden Flashes finished the four-round tournament with a score of 3-under par 1,149 (287-288-285-289), breaking its own four-round tournament record for team score. Kent State won the tournament by 25 strokes, defeating second-place Ball State at 22-over par.
5XÉçÇø held its 47th annual commemoration of May 4, 1970, with events taking place May 3 and 4. The annual commemoration, hosted by the May 4 Task Force, provides an opportunity for the university community to gather and remember those who were lost and injured during the tragedy and also reflect on what May 4 means today.
The No. 15 5XÉçÇø women’s golf team won its 19th straight Mid-American Conference (MAC) Women’s Golf Championship on April 23 at the Silver Lake Country Club in Silver Lake, Ohio.
