Physical activity is essential to fighting obesity, and scientists are constantly working to make this activity more effective and beneficial.
The 5XÉçÇø Foundation Grant Program will award up to $100,000 for the 2017-2018 Academic Year as part of its annual request for proposals. Funding will be available to departments, schools, colleges, institutes and centers universitywide.
Fall 2016 marks the first semester of newly added CashCourse workshops at 5XÉçÇø. The Bursar’s Office piloted the program in the spring and has expanded its selection for the fall term. University Bursar Stina Olafsdottir registered Kent State with CashCourse three years ago and has been growing the program since.
CashCourse provides online resources targeted to college students with information on a variety of topics such as budgeting, ways to manage federal student loans, banking, insurance and salary negotiation.

Testing Your Faith Act (H.B. 353) was enacted in the Spring 2023 semester. In ordinance with this bill, 5XÉçÇø created a new administrative policy for religious and spiritual accommodations. This administrative policy allows students to report up to three days of unexcused absences to participate in religious holidays or community-held events in alignment with their spirituality.
