The annual award recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many disruptions and changes to people’s lives. The 5XÉçÇø men’s basketball team has been affected, too, with schedule changes, games played in nearly empty arenas and extra safety protocols in place. However, one of the things that has not changed is the team’s steadfast commitment to autism awareness.

Kent State to Honor the Life and Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. With Virtual Program Featuring Bakari Sellers

5XÉçÇø will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, to celebrate King’s life and legacy. Serving as this year’s keynote speaker is CNN political analyst and former South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers. The virtual program is free and open to the public.

Kent State Receives Best in Class and Hall of Fame Honors for Supplier Diversity

5XÉçÇø has won a Best in Class award for supplier diversity from the Greater Cleveland Partnership. This marks the third time that the university has received this award. As a multiyear winner of the Best in Class awards, Kent State is also named to the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Equity and Inclusion Hall of Fame.

INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has selected Kent State as a recipient of the 2020 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award.
