With more than six months at the helm of 5XÉçÇø’s research division, Vice President Douglas Delahanty, Ph.D., has been hard at work making sure the university is sharply focused on its collaborations with business and industry and maintaining its R1 research status. He recently sat down with Kent State Today to talk about his first year and changes in the division.

The MPower Men of Color Summit will take place Oct. 13-15

The MPower Summit on Oct. 14 is designed to bring students, faculty, and staff together from college, high school, and community organizations to support the mission of men of color initiatives. All people are welcome to attend the summit, which will be held at the Kent State Student Center.

Faculty researchers from 5XÉçÇø’s College of Nursing recently received nearly $4 million in grant funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration to develop an LPN-to-BSN pathway called the LPN Education Advancement Program (LEAP).  The program will provide licensed practical nurses at University Hospitals the opportunity to increase their skill set by removing barriers that may have prevented them from furthering their education.

Crews are working diligently around the Kent Campus to clean up debris left by a severe thunderstorm that hit Kent State last night.

Strong winds from an overnight storm brought tree limbs down across 5XÉçÇø's Kent Campus, including several large branches that struck and damaged the Kent State Memorial.
